Color is starting to return to Bogey Woods. The swamp is slowly drying out and we can get back in there and nose around a little. Lots of spiderwebs across the trails since no one has been back in the woods for several months.
Was able to get up to the hideout and poke around a little. It needs lots of work before we can use it again. The basic structure survived the flood, but, lots of pieces floated off. Once it dries out a little more, I will start reconstruction.
Ran into another guy who has been walking these trails for years and he told me he saw a Mink the other evening. He says he has seen several over the years along the creeks and in the swamp. I saw something "mink-like" crossing Meramec Bottom Road a couple of weeks ago, but, only caught a quick glance. At the time I thought maybe it was a cat. Now, I'm not so sure.

Variety
Hot days, hot nights, high humidity, heavy dew in the morning.
I came across one of the Great Horned Owls this week. In the same tree, on almost the same limb where I found "The Twins" last year. Not sure if it is one of the twins, but, I like to think it is.
