Mushrooms & Flowers & Trees & the River & Beautiful Weather

These photos were taken the first week of October.  It has been 80 degrees during the day an into the 50's at night.  No rain and hardly any clouds.  It is extremely dry and the colors on the trees are very muted this fall.  We had all our rain back in the spring and it made for a bumper crop of acorns.  The deer should have plenty to keep them through the winter.

The Meramec River is way down again, just like last fall and winter.  I am actually looking forward to some cooler weather and the leaves off the trees.  It is much easier to see the birds and other critters without the foliage in the way.
