Eagle is Back

Had a couple of pretty frosty mornings this week.  Got down to about 16 degrees one morning, but, plenty of sunshine and no wind.  Several beautiful days and lots of birds to the feeder.

Interrupted the Bald Eagle's lunch one day as he/she sat on a gravel bar getting ready to chow down on a fresh catch.  Also saw a juvenile eagle hanging around.  Probably trying to get a free meal.  When I startled the adult, they flew off into the trees about 400 yards away and watched.  The fish was still on the gravel bar when I left.  I'm sure somebody ate it up.

Bottles & Birds

It has been a good week for deer, hawks, owls, woodpeckers, etc..

Had a little snow on Tuesday, but just enough for a light dusting.

Found a small stash of old bottles someone had put on an old stump in the woods and shot off a few frames.  Later, I ran into a couple of people and they admitted to staging the bottles for some photos they needed for their photo class.

Ran into a nice flock of turkeys and the Red-bellied Woodpecker will come to the feeder now even if I am standing 10 yards away.

Pretty soon, they will be landing on my outstretched arms.
